Over the course of the semester I watched my online network grow the more work I put into it.
The best place to start was with the EDTC 300 family on twitter! So, I followed and connected everyone!
I replied and retweeted my classmates tweets…
as well as tweet resources I found using the hashtag #edtc300
I even participated in an overwhelming, but amazing #edchat!
I gained over 200 followers over the course of the semester, and I am not as afraid of twitter as I once was! I have even been retweeted by some artists and teacher inspirations!
Due to heartbreaking circumstances, I have seen the best and worst of social media. I have truly seen the power that it has, and the positivity it can bring. People from all over the world have reached out to me, and I cannot believe this comes from one simple tweet while sitting in Saskatoon.
I read blogs from my classmates, and commented on their successes.
As well as responded to comments on my own blog.
I loved being able to connect with my classmates throughout the semester. It was so interesting to see all of the different ideas and passions shine through during this process.
I admired Katelyn Pippus as she mastered the art of hand-lettering! I thought that this was such a unique idea, and it is going to be a much more useful skill than I initially realized.
My mouth was watering as I seen all of the delicious dishes Sarah Reimer was cooking up for her and her husband! Thankfully I had the motivation of Melissa Kazymyra and her workouts to keep me semi on track.
While I found it challenging to do an online class, I loved the opportunities it presented all of us! I really enjoyed being able to learn from every one of my classmates, and hope we will stay connected in the future!
BTW! When Katia says to screenshot your comments at the beginning of the semester…. she is not lying. Trust me. They are next to impossible to find later on.
Have a great summer everyone!
